Things aren’t predictable right now for nonprofits. That’s probably too nice of a way of saying it. There’s a spectrum of fear, uncertainty, and doubt that pervades our space. For some nonprofits, it’s the threat of future action. For others, they are already firmly in the crosshairs of targeted aggressive moves from the administration.
Budgets are especially uncertain. Many nonprofits have had some of their funding sources canceled or clawed back. Most are feeling the trailing effects of the current economic climate as some donors curtail their giving. Extremely regrettably, some have been forced to lay off staff.
Pretty gloomy for a Monday, right? Sorry about that. But we’re not here to bum you out. We’re here to tell you that Raise HECK is here to help.
Our tagline has always been “We help nonprofits choose and use the best technology to fit their missions.” For the last several years, a lot of that work has focused on technology assessments and selection projects. The “choose” piece of it.
We still do that and it’s still one of our core areas of expertise. But we are also here to help you use your existing technology better. In fact, in this current time that we’re in, we are intentionally focusing on expanding the “use your existing tech better” side of our services.
Why? Simply put, it’s because there’s a need for it right now.
If a nonprofit has faced layoffs of critical staff, it has probably had an impact on technology usage. Staff might have had to pick up extra work from former colleagues. Or maybe institutional knowledge went out the door, and there’s an opportunity to optimize processes. Maybe nonprofits just need a couple of extra sets of hands right now to do things but can’t yet hire back full-time staff.
That’s where Raise HECK can come in. In the coming weeks we will share with you some specific services offerings we’re developing. Here’s a preview:
- Business process optimization and documentation for things like gift processing, grant management, digital marketing, and more
- Mapping and requirements for point solution integration
- Improve your sustainer program’s bottom line
- Analysis of ROI and outcomes for your digital acquisition program
If there are specific things your nonprofit needs help with and you are wondering if we can provide them, please reach out to us at hello@raiseheck.com. If we can help, we’ll do it! And if it’s not part of our skill set, we know so many other talented people in the industry who have specialized expertise that we can recommend.
PS: We have Timothy Snyder’s “On Tyranny” on hold at the library. While we wait, here are a couple of articles that describe how not to obey in advance.
